In 1974, Bill Everett founded Boulder Hockey Shield Co, creating a half-shield visor and a wire-polycarbonate cage combo. Before this time, only goalies wore face masks. The technology for optimum anti-fog and scratch resistance coating was not yet invented until the mid-1990's.
After a long 25-year hiatus involving a senior executive career in cable, broadcast (NBC-Boston), digital technology and satellite TV, Bill Everett reignited his passion for Boulder Hockey Shields in 2010.
This prompted the creation of hockey's first two-piece, panoramic fog free lens and scratch-resistant polycarbonate cage mask, suitable for junior and senior players. Its exceptional design boasts a high-impact lens and multi-colored frame, blending seamlessly against a variety of helmets and team colors.
Boulder Hockey Shield Co later developed three additional senior masks designs, one junior mask design, and two visor styles. Currently, a fourth senior mask design and an upgraded junior mask design is in development.
The Boulder Hockey Shield has a loyal customer base spanning from Pro-level player to novice. True pioneers in the hockey world, the company continues to exceed the expectations of the game with unparalleled protective technology.
