At Vishous Hockey, we believe that hockey should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial status or experience. We are committed to hockey excellence and our community outreach involves partnering with local hockey programs, donating pre-owned hockey equipment, and dedicating time on the ice.

1. Learn to Play Hockey

We partner with free, local Learn to Play hockey programs for individuals of all ages who are new to the sport. Whether you're a child looking to try hockey for the first time or an adult interested in picking up a new hobby, these skilled coaches will teach you the basics of the game. This program assists in providing all the necessary equipment, so you can get on the ice with little to no financial burden.

If you are passionate about hockey and want to make a difference in your community, consider getting involved with your local Learn to Play program. These programs provide a great opportunity for children and adults to learn the fundamentals of hockey and develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment.

One option is to volunteer as a coach or assistant coach. This allows you to share your knowledge and expertise with players of all ages and skill levels. You can teach basic skills such as skating, passing, and shooting, and provide guidance and encouragement as players progress.

Another way to get involved is by becoming a mentor. Many Learn to Play programs pair experienced players with beginners to provide individualized support and guidance. As a mentor, you can help new players feel welcome and comfortable on the ice, and offer advice and encouragement as they develop their skills.

If you prefer a more behind-the-scenes role, you can assist the program coordinator or administrator. This involves tasks such as organizing practice schedules, managing equipment, and coordinating with other volunteers and program participants. By taking on these responsibilities, you can help ensure that the Learn to Play program runs smoothly and efficiently.

2. Hockey Equipment Donations

We understand that hockey equipment can be expensive, especially for growing children who quickly outgrow their gear. To alleviate some of this burden, we assist in collecting, refurbishing, and distributing pre-owned hockey equipment for our local rinks, ensuring it is in good-used condition. Utilizing pre-owned hockey gear is an excellent way to help newcomers get started without worrying about the cost of equipment.

If you have gently used hockey equipment that you would like to donate, please contact your local Learn to Play program. You can also reach out to us at Vishoushockey@gmail.com for guidance. Your contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of aspiring hockey players.

3. Community Hockey Leagues

Community hockey leagues are open to players of all skill levels. We believe in fostering a love for the game, and leagues provide a fun and inclusive environment for players to enjoy friendly competition. Minimal registration fees are required, making it easier for families and individuals to participate. in addition, joining a league can enhance a variety of values including integrity, responsibility, perseverance, and teamwork. They are also guaranteed to assist in making lifelong memories and relationships.
